Casa Mila combines a wonderful, prime Centro Historico UNESCO location with the stunning remodel of a late 18th century home. A complete renovation and addition in 2019 by the Santa Fe design team of Solterra Design Build, collaborating with the best designer and builder in San Miguel, has produced a wonderful 3000 square foot home which evokes a cool Mexican vibe with a Mid-Century modern aesthetic. Completely done in a neutral palette, Casa Mila invites you to relax in elegant textures and stylish touches throughout this beautiful home. Across the street from casa Mila lives the largest and oldest Jacaranda tree in San Miguel, putting on a show every spring!

Antique double doors lead from the street into a charming entry courtyard, with natural stone and cantera accents. Large expanses of glass and iron doors lead into the open-concept Living / Dining / Kitchen space. Highlights include exposed stone from the original garden walls, a cozy fireplace, and cantera stone flooring. Huge French doors disappear into the wall to reveal a delightful, graveled interior courtyard with an antique fountain and olive trees. A large dining table seats 8-10. The Kitchen features solid teak cabinetry, white Thassos marble surfaces, a designer 36" range and built in refrigerator. The owners love to cook, so the Kitchen is fully stocked with gourmet appliances! Behind the Kitchen is a very chic Powder Room, as well as lots of pantry space and front-load laundry facilities.

Also on the entry level is a King Bedroom. It is accessed through beautiful French doors and features a charming boveda ceiling and the original window to the street (thermo-pane glass to keep out any noise) with its lovely shutters. A window seat provides the perfect spot for a little quiet reflection. Attached is an ensuite bath with a double sink vanity and a large walk-in shower. This room has a good-sized closet and small desk and TV.

The second floor of Casa Mila has two generous King Bedrooms. One of the Bedrooms has a larger bathroom with a beautiful free-standing tub. The other Bedroom has exposed stone walls, a fireplace and small Juliet balcony. Both of these bedrooms feature small patios with seating for two.

Casa Mila is located just east of the Jardin and the views are incredible from our rooftop patio! There is lounge seating for all of our guests, as well as a dining table with seating for 8. A huge, 15' umbrella will shade you during the warmth of the afternoon. The sunsets here are unrivaled! Casa Mila's location is perfect. Just a couple of blocks away on Barranca is El Manantial, our hip neighborhood bar, with great small seafood plates. Other close restaurants include La Mezcalaria, the new and fabulous La Doña Restaurant, Firenze, Cumpanio, Andaza, The Restaurant, La Unica, Chamonix, La Parada and San Mezcal, to name just a few. These are all within 3 blocks.

Our fabulous housekeeper, Paty, will take care of all your needs 5 days a week from 9am to 2pm including cooking fabulous breakfasts (customers pay for groceries). Additional time is available for an extra charge.
